Carpe Diem Education offers expertly designed semester and year-long gap programs in Italy & Greece, Spain & Morocco, Hawai'i, the South Pacific, Central America, South America, India, and Southeast Asia.
College credit, FAFSA, and scholarships are available on all semester and year-long programs.
Carpe Diem programs challenge perspectives, embolden critical thinking, and inspire a greater sense of self through enhanced global perspectives. Balancing hard work with fun-filled adventure; finding laughter in the midst of serious inquiry; we discover the depths of our humanity together.
When participating in a Carpe Diem gap year program, students explore some of the most culturally and geographically diverse (and exciting!) regions of our planet.
Imagine engaging in forest and river conservation efforts in the Amazon Basin; studying indigenous perspectives in the hills of Northern Thailand; living with families and studying Arabic in the capital city of Morocco; scuba diving the coral reefs of Fiji.
Carpe Diem offers 3-month semesters and the Latitudes Year. The Latitudes program incorporates a group semester in the fall and an independent volunteer placement in the spring. As a Latitudes student, you'll spend your first group semester enjoying a wide range of experiences and educational opportunities while engaging with multiple partner organizations in several locations. Your second semester gives you the opportunity to deepen your educational experience in a more self-directed, independent manner.
Carpe Diem offers seven diverse semester programs with unique themes:
Italy & Greece. Climate Change: Resilience and Regeneration
South Pacific. Environmental Conservation and Leadership
Spain & Morocco. Human Migration and Language Study
Central America. Sustainability and Spanish Immersion
South America. Spanish Immersion and Conservation
Southeast Asia. Human Rights and Cultural Exchange
India. Spirituality and Climate Change
